If Swiatek doesn't win it, I think we could have a first time FO winner in both the men's and women's.

Yeah Nadal vs Zverev in the first round- ouch for both players. Frankly that's pretty disrespectful to Nadal to have him unseeded. It'd be pretty great and amazing though if he can beat Zverev in the first round.

Not sure if Sinner is 100%, but if he is he might be the one to beat. Alcaraz looked great in his first round, and he has a great chance too.

Nadal was ranked # 275, not much they could do.

I've never seen so many current players in the stands for a first round match. Or any first round match.

True he was ranked that, but even not at back in form yet, realistically he's much better than #275, especially on clay. So that's a shame that they didn't give him a special seeding.

That's great all those players were watching in person. They may have been witnessing history as that may have been Rafa's final Roland Garros match. Hope not- Nadal seems determined to mount a comeback.

Yeah up 4-1 in the third. But being able to battle like that, taking the #1 to the verge- that's a good sign for Osaka.

The French Open seem set on tradition. They probably have never given special seeding before.

They were the last to build a roof. It's so nice to now be able to at least see some matches everyday.

Question: Between the FO, Wimbledon, and USO, what is the average number of days each major has had matches postponed due to rain, per year?

If the FO is the worst, I wonder if they could swap dates with another tourney.

Ok, I just saw they added a 2nd roof this year.

Let's see how that helps. If not, maybe build a 3rd roof. Or swap dates to a better weather time.

If Nadal can get a few more mph back on his strokes, he could still be very good. I think that was the only thing missing.

Yeah French Open seems to be run by a bunch of old fashioned old dudes who are not the most forward thinking. That's a thought-provoking idea to get away from it, and if the players band together it might be possible. Or at least induce some changes for the better.

As for Nadal- for sure his shots don't look as powerful, and he's also making more errors probably due to rust. Seems like he does want to come back so it'd be great to see him at Roland Garros next year.

Speaking of errors Coco just made way too many vs Swiatek. Really need to work on those drop shots too to draw Swiatek in as Iga isn't the most comfortable at the net. Not sure if Paolini can hurt Swiatek, but she sure handled Andreeva easily.

Alcaraz vs Sinner is going to be epic- really looking forward to that one.

I'm still not sure what makes Swiatek so good. Is it because she makes fewer errors?

But she's not a speedy baseliner in the way that Wozniacki, Halep, or Clijsters were either.

Zverev seems to be having one of his best seasons this year. Let's see if he wins his SF.

That's got to be tough for Sinner, losing another 5 setter to Alcaraz.

TNT gets the French Open from 2025+.

A few questions:

• I'd imagine they'd have less coverage than Tennis Channel. Which is going to suck. I can't imagine TNT covering matches from 2AM - 4PM PST, like what happens during the first few rounds when there's a lot of matches.

• Neither TNT, nor TBS (for MLB) have on demand streaming. This is kind of a must, especially with the time zone difference of the French Open.

Unless there's a solution to these issues, I'd probably have preferred that they keep it on Tennis Channel.

Yeah very consistent, and her ground strokes are deadly if you don't move her. And she has really improved the one area she needed to- the serve. She's definitely following the footsteps of her idol Nadal. Another Roland Garros trophy for Iga.
