Doubles players have expressed significant concern regarding the ATP Tour's recently announced restructuring plans. The proposal includes a reduction in prize money and tournament draw sizes for doubles events beginning in 2028. Many professionals on the circuit argue that these changes threaten the financial viability of their careers. This shift signals a major strategic pivot for the organization regarding the status of doubles tennis. The decision has sparked a wave of criticism from athletes who feel their discipline is being marginalized. How should the ATP balance the commercial interests of singles tennis with the sustainability of the doubles circuit?

I like doubles on clay and hard courts, but not on grass.

With that said, I would not restructure the prize money. There's a lot of good singles players that sometimes play doubles, and a lot of great doubles players that sometimes play singles.

We don't want to see less people play doubles.
